Branson Landing Cruises

The Branson Landing is expecting to see a few new additions this year. One of those additions is the brand new Branson Landing Cruises. Two floating vessels, the Landing Princess, and the Lake Queen can house up to 150 guests apiece for many different occasions. The Landing Princess is more modern and luxurious, making it perfect for weddings and business events, while the Lake Queen offers a more tradiitonal atmosphere, with sightseeing tours, lunch and dinner cruises, and more.

Branson Landing Cruises offers much more floating temptation, such as the new Shorty Smalls restaurant with a floating pub and museum. Let the new improved Gage's Marina lure you in for all your fishing needs, and check out the floating shoppes while your there. You can swing by Denny's Harley Davidson and try on some chaps, then go to Ben and Jerry's to grab an ice cream cone. Be on the lookout for some unforgettable events on the water!

The Fountain Room is also a great place to hold events, with a unique view of the Branson Landing's $7.5 million dollar fountain. It is scheduled to open for the summer of 2008.

Sight and Sound Hard-Hat Tour

Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB got to take a hard-hat tour of the brand new Sight and Sound Theatre. This theatre is huge! Here's an interesting fact: there are over 500 doors in the facility. That's a lot of keys to keep track of! The set for Noah - The Musical is nearly finished.

Sight and Sound Theater

Imagine witnessing the most beloved stories of the Bible come to life on one of the largest stages in the country. Sight & Sound Theatres, described by some as "the Christian Broadway," will premiere the epic Bible story of Noah on May 24.

The new theatre is 339,000 square feet with a stage area of 26,550 square feet and seating for 2,085 patrons. The production’s 300-foot stage that wraps around three sides of the audience, 40-foot high sets, cast of 45 actors, elaborate costumes, breathtaking special effects, and hundreds of live and animatronic animals captivate and transport audience members as they experience Noah and his family’s journey of persecution, faithfulness, hope and redemption.

I will be taking a hard-hat tour of the theater on Feb. 14, and posting pictures soon after.

Tickets are now on sale through the website (sight-sound.com) or by calling 800-377-1277.

The Haygoods Final Season

After 16 years and more than 10,000 performances in Branson, The Haygood Family will perform their final full season of shows this year.

Originally from Boerne, Texas, the musical family of seven brothers and one sister (Timothy, Patrick, Dominic, Michael, Shawn, Matthew, Aaron and Catherine) ranging in age from 14 to 30 became a Branson favorite soon after their first early performances at Silver Dollar City beginning in 1993.

The final full season of performances will run from March 2008 through December 2008 with the majority of performances scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Select 3:00 p.m. shows will also be presented at various times throughout the year.

In addition to a new television project and scheduled touring, the family will continue to record and release new music, including several original compositions that are featured in the show. More new music will be introduced in the 2008 season of performances as well.

As news of the Haygoods’ final performances has filtered out into the tourism community, the demand for tickets has already increased considerably. For ticket reservations and more information, call 417-336-1600.
